The birth of Skin2 Perfection

The birth of Skin2 Perfection started much like the rare purple lotus flower. Lotus flowers are germinated under very unfavorable conditions. Despite harsh conditions, it blooms into a beautiful flower. My skin has experienced many challenges as well. I know what it is like to have acne, hyperpigmentation, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) with hirsutism.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the use of low electrical current to remove unwanted hair.  Electrolysis uses two types of current: direct current and alternating current three different ways. Depending on the skin type and hair type, the electrologist will use either the galvanic method, thermolysis method, or the blend method.

Electrolysis is the only method officially approved by the FDA as permanent hair removal.  Laser is officially classified as permanent hair reduction; the results are inconsistent from one client to another client and the hair will return at some point.  Electrolysis began in 1875 with Dr. Charles Michel removing ingrown hairs from a patient’s eyelashes.  Over time, the method was improved and used more widely for cosmetic hair removal on other parts of the body.  Electrolysis has a track record of permanency for nearly 100 years.

Electrolysis is a safe and effective method for permanent hair removal.  The level of discomfort varies depending on individual sensitivity, the area being treated, and the type of current being used (Galvanic, Thermolysis, or Blend). Some sensitivity ranges from feeling nothing, and falling asleep, to needing pain management options such as numbing cream. A feeling of pinching or stinging has also been used to describe what is felt during the treatment. Mild redness, swelling, or sensitivity after treatment is normal. These effects will go away within a few hours or 48 hours.

Let’s be clear and realistic. One session will not remove all hair due to the hair growth cycle, genetics, medications and hormonal imbalances.  You may need multiple sessions over several weeks or months, depending on the area being treated and hair type (fine, medium, or coarse).  Consistency is the key.
